Dirty Larry: Renegade Cop on the Atari Lynx

Dirty Larry: Renegade Cop is a side-scrolling beat ’em up game where players take control of Larry, who tasks upon himself on fighting the criminals that roams the streets of Steelburg through seven stages in order to find and arrest Mr. Big, the head of the organized crime in the city and the game’s final boss, as the main objective.

Players move through each level beating up enemies and picking weapons left on streets, as Larry carries a limited amount of ammunition at the beginning of the game and the current weapon in use will be left unusable unless more ammo is found.

Players can also pick up health items left by enemies when beaten. Each stage hosts a boss that must be fought before progressing any further, requiring different strategies to defeat them and after doing so, Larry uses a metro line to travel other locations, acting as a transition point between stages.

The player’s perspective is that of looking down into a three-dimensional rectangular pit. Polycube blocks of various shapes appear, one at a time, and fall slowly toward the bottom of the pit. The player can use three buttons to rotate the block around any of the three coordinate axes, and can also maneuver the block horizontally and vertically with a joystick.

Once any part of a block comes to rest on the floor of the pit or in contact with an already-placed cube, it freezes in place and can no longer be moved.

The player can press a button on the joystick to quickly drop a block. Once a solid layer of cubes is formed with no gaps (a “face”), it disappears and all cubes above it drop toward the bottom of the pit to fill the space. Completing multiple faces with a single block awards higher scores, and the player earns a “Block Out” bonus for completely emptying the pit. A set number of faces must be completed in order to end each round.

As the game progresses, the blocks begin to drop faster, the dimensions of the pit change from round to round, and differently-shaped blocks begin to appear. A bonus stage is played after every fifth round, in which the player has 30 seconds to form as many faces as possible in a 2×2 pit. The game ends if the blocks stack up to the top of the pit, with the exception of the bonus stages; in the latter case, the stage ends immediately and the player advances to the next round.

The game allows head-to-head competition between two players, each of whom has their own pit and blocks. When one player completes a face, all the cubes in the opponent’s pit are raised by one level. To win a round, a player must either be the first to complete a set number of faces or must force their opponent’s cubes to stack up to the top of the pit.

BattleWheels is a first-person vehicular combat game similar to Interstate ’76 and Twisted Metal where players assume the role of warriors taking the wheel of heavily-armored automobiles in an attempt to kill other opponents at the titular sport to emerge as a winning victor of the match.

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic dystopia on the year 2019, where the world has been reduced to a Mad Max-inspired setting and humanity has now turned towards more violent sports for entertainment as a result of both technological advancements and nationwide reorganization of the political structure that led to the creation of new kinds of sports, with the titular BattleWheels being the most popular of all.

This arena-based combat sport pits up to six warriors dueling each other and driving heavily-armored vehicles named Hi-Tech in order to kill the other opponents to emerge victorious.

Batman Returns on the Atari Lynx is a side-scrolling action-beat ’em up game where players take control of Batman through four increasingly difficult stages fighting against multiple adversaries such as the Red Triangle Gang in order to stop both Catwoman and the Penguin from spreading terror across Gotham City as the main objective.

In the first stage, Batman must face off the Red Triangle Gang with Penguin as the end level boss.

The second stage pits Batman against the police on the rooftops with Catwoman as the end level boss. The third stage is about defeating Penguin’s forces in the sewers, while the Penguin is fought for the last time in the fourth stage.

Along the way, Batman can grab a variety of items to aid him on his journey against enemies such as batarangs and bat-shaped health pickups.

Awesome Golf is a golf game where players compete in matches on various golf courses set across three countries of the world.

There are three game modes and multiple golfers to choose from at the main menu:

Medal is the main single-player mode where one player participates in 18 holes.
Practice, as the name implies, is essentially a training mode where players can refine their skills.
Driving mode. Before starting each mode, players can configurate a set of options on the menu screen such as the number of holes to play through
